What will you do?

As Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) you will be directly responsible for OpenCommerce Group’s continuous growth in the SMB segment across all four of our product categories. You will be leading a lean but world-class marketing organization and be part of the executive leadership team that is committed to take OCG to its next phase of excellence. In this role, you will lead Acquisition Marketing, Product Marketing, Brand Management, Engagement strategies, as well as Communications and Public Relations efforts. You’ll lead the creation and execution of the overall marketing plan and identify the scalable strategies that drive the most effective growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the creation and implementation of innovative multi-channel acquisition strategies and campaigns via strong collaboration with Product, Sales and Data Analytics
  • Partner with Sales and Finance to develop and maintain a robust top of the funnel for our multiple products to meet business growth and revenue objectives
  • Own our messaging architecture in partnership with Product and Sales to stay ahead of market trends, create a constant feedback loop with our customer’s needs, and establish differentiated market positioning
  • Provide ongoing tracking, measurement, KPI, and ROI analysis for the team’s marketing initiatives and campaigns to provide clear, actionable insights by campaign, channel, segment, cohortIn support of OCG’s overall strategy, develop communications and sales strategies, the big picture roadmap and plan out the resources for their execution
  • Lead and empower a high-performing, collaborative team of cross-functional marketers, driving the vision and overseeing efforts across these functions
  • Oversee external and internal communications to ensure all investors, shareholders and employees are updated on key company messages and clearly understand the OCG’s vision and values

Requirements

  • 6+ years in marketing with 4+ in leadership roles, including experience scaling acquisition engines, operating as a C-level executive, and driving company-wide marketing strategy in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Track record of being responsible for an annual budget with excellent performance ROI metrics, driving compelling creative campaigns across digital channels
  • Team-player and builder who can execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment and startup culture; strong decision-maker with the ability to reorient teams and drive execution cross-functionally when priorities change or are ambiguous
  • A communications background with an excellent ability to emphatically capture needs and wants and connect them to value propositions and benefits through compelling, engaging storytelling
  • A creative, scrappy problem solver; native in both digital and physical worlds; you're a collaborator with a constant curiosity and a learning mentality who likes to execute on the tactics as much as setting the strategy
  • Passion for start-ups and innovation and a deep understanding of customers’ needs, their competitive choices and sources of differentiation
  • Intrinsic drive to roll-up your sleeves and get things done; a self-starter, productive working independently or collaboratively
  • Background in eCommerce, SaaS businesses and/or the SMB sector strongly preferred
